'Reach For The Star Project' Aims To Get IRON MAIDEN On Hollywood Walk Of Fame
April 4, 2008Maiden Hollywood today announced the launch of its official web site to promote the Reach for the Star Project, an independent campaign designed to raise the $25,000 sponsorship fee required by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to nominate British heavy metal band IRON MAIDEN for a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Maiden Hollywood is currently seeking donations to achieve its fund-raising objectives to forever immortalize IRON MAIDEN on Hollywood Boulevard.
"Maiden Hollywood is a grassroots campaign initiated by IRON MAIDEN fans, not the establishment in the entertainment industry," said Maiden Hollywood Founder and President Cindy Santos. "The ultimate mission is to make sure that IRON MAIDEN is recognized for their significant contribution to music and their influence on music."
Nearly 30 years after the release of its first album, IRON MAIDEN continues to dominate the heavy metal world as it defies corporate influences and popular music trends. Despite their lack of exposure on American radio stations and other corporate music outlets, they have sold millions of albums and command legions of loyal fans throughout the world.
Incorporated on March 7, 2008, Maiden Hollywood is a non-profit corporation based in Irvine, California.
